If you are embarking upon your first experience teaching with the Wilson Reading System or you're a veteran Wilson certified teacher, Wilson Academy has something for you.

Below is a features overview of the three Wilson Academy Membership Options. Depending upon your needs, click one of the options to the right to find out more details.

Academy / BASIC

•	Animated demonstrations from Steps 1-6 such as tapping and marking up
•	Printable materials such as student notebook pages, lesson plan tools, extra word cards, fluency practice, and games
•	Weekly stories at enriched and non-controlled decodable level for Part 10 of the lesson plan

Word Study (Steps 1-6) Online Course

•	All the benefits of Academy / BASIC membership
•	90 hours of in-depth information for each substep of Steps 1-6 of the Wilson Reading System
•	Video clips of Barbara Wilson demonstrating parts 2 and 7 of the lesson plan for each substep
•	Additional topics on dyslexia, fluency, pacing, handwriting, vocabulary, sight word instruction, non-controlled text reading, and post-testing
•	Online chats and discussion
•	6 college credits (optional)

A 12-month subscription, Academy / BASIC is great for all, from those just starting out to those certified in Wilson.

This course provides specific procedures to teach the concepts presented in WRS Steps 1-6. It is one of the courses required for WRS Level I Certification, and is also recommended as a refresher course for experienced and certified teachers.

The enrollment is currently filled to capacity; the course will reopen July 2010.

Rochester School Teacher Receives National Recognition, Scholarship
Wilson Language Training® has named Marla Kleinman of Rochester, NY, as recipient of the 2009 Sharon Parks Memorial Scholarship for Wilson Level II training. The annual Sharon Parks Memorial Scholarship is a national award presented to one teacher who demonstrates dedication to the Wilson mission of helping students become fluent, independent readers. It was created in memory of the late Sharon Parks, an enthusiastic, conscientious, and concerned Wilson trainer.

Great Neck Administrator Honored with National Award
Wilson Language Training® has named Terry Horowitz of Great Neck, NY, as recipient of the 2009 Mary Ann Bonneau Administrator Award. Each year, Wilson recognizes one dedicated school administrator with this national award which commemorates the late Mary Ann Bonneau, an educator from the Worcester (MA) Public School District. Terry exemplifies the professionalism and compassion that embodied Mary Ann’s commitment to making literacy a possibility for everyone.

Saint Joseph's University Master's in Special Education Program Announces Partnership with Wilson Language Training
In March 2009, Saint Joseph's University's Online Master's in Special Education: Response to Intervention program will be collaborating with a third party, the world-renowned Wilson Language Training Corporation. This partnership will allow students enrolled in the Saint Joseph's University's Online Special Education Graduate Program to become certified as Wilson Reading System® teachers.
