| Word Study (Steps 1-6) Online Course |
This course provides specific procedures to teach the concepts presented in WRS Steps 1-6. It is one of the courses required for WRS Level I Certification, and is also recommended as a refresher course for experienced and certified teachers.
The course is designed to guide the participants in the specific WRS instructional methods and concepts taught at each substep. Participants have access to 90-hours of interactive online seminar instruction in Steps 1-6 of the Wilson Reading System, including:

How can I use the course while implementing the WRS? |
As you implement
the Wilson Reading System, you will have access to detailed
information as you progress through each substep of
Steps 1-6 of the program. You will learn the principles
of teaching phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding,
fluency, vocabulary and comprehension strategies using
multisensory, systematic techniques with the Wilson
Reading System. |

| How can I take the Word Study (Steps 1-6) Online Course as part of the WRS Level 1 Certification? |
| Wilson Level I Certification involves online and Wilson Trainer seminar instruction, and at minimum, a 60-lesson practicum with a student who falls between the 5th to the 30th percentile with a minimum total reading score of 2.0. For more information, see WRS Level I Certification Program |

The WRS Introductory Workshop / Overview or Applied Methods must be completed before enrolling in the Word Study (Steps 1-6) Online Course. This Introductory workshop introduces participants to the philosophy and methodology of the Wilson Reading System.
