This session will address the key components of effective literacy instruction for Spanish-speaking students. These components include the alphabetic principle, early writing skills, oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Teachers will understand how to implement explicit and systematic instruction for their students. Esperanza includes screening and progress monitoring tools in addition to comprehensive lessons that address the foundational skills for successful Spanish literacy.
